Annual brewing initative The Rainbow Project has produced some stunning beers throughout its time but Key Lime Tau stands out as one of the best.
Designed to mirror the flavours in key lime pie, it is a kettle-soured, lactose-infused golden ale brewed with fresh lime zest and lemongrass, first created in collaboration with sour beer masters Crooked Stave.
Hawkshead only brew this special once every year and this time, Tau Day happens to fall slap, bang in the middle of Manchester Beer Week.
So Café Beermoth is hosting head brewer Matt Clarke for the launch of this year's Key Lime Tau, including Tau on cask and keg alongside tasty snack pairings.
There may even be a white wine barrel-aged version available on the night, as well as another surprise.
