Chorlton's Bootleg Brewery is giving one lucky homebrewer the chance to brew an exclusive beer in honour of Manchester Beer Week and Chorlton Beer Festival.

The brewery, based at the Horse and Jockey Pub, is running a competition giving homebrewers the chance to have their recipe created on a commercial scale.

Entrants are simply being asked to create an Anglo-American beer. This can showcase any combination of the two countries in beer form, either in terms of beer style or ingredients.

So whether you create an American style using English hops, or combine English malts with American hops is completely up to you.

Entries will be judged by a panel of experienced and respected judges at a tasting in June to crown three winners.

The first prize winner will brew their recipe on a commercial scale at Bootleg Brewery, to be served at Chorlton Beer Festival, Manchester Beer Week and sold through selected pubs in Manchester.

Bootleg will also hold an awards ceremony at the Horse and Jockey for all entrants to celebrate their creations and try all of the other home brewed beers.

To enter, please register at for your chance to have your brew enjoyed by thousands across Manchester. Closing date for registrations is May 6.
